Flaneo Terms of Use

Version 1.0 · Effective: 25 September 2026 · Last updated: 25 September 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Igor Kostrubin, an individual entrepreneur (monotributista) registered in Buenos Aires, Argentina (“Flaneo”, “we”), for the use of the Flaneo mobile app and the website flaneo.app (the “Service”). By creating an account, subscribing, or using the Service you accept these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. What Flaneo is

Flaneo builds a walking route for a city neighbourhood from your interests and the time you have, and narrates the stops as you walk. Routes and narration are generated by artificial intelligence from a database of places that we curate. Flaneo is a leisure and information product: it is not a navigation, safety, emergency or professional guide service.

2. Who can use it

You must be at least 13 years old (or older if your country requires it for this kind of service). To buy a subscription you must be old enough to hold the store account used for payment. If you use Flaneo for someone else, you confirm you are allowed to accept these terms for them.

3. Accounts

The app creates an anonymous account automatically. You can link it with Sign in with Apple to keep your walks and subscription across devices. You are responsible for your device and for anything done through your account. You can delete your account at any time in Profile → Delete account; this erases your data as described in the Privacy Policy and cannot be undone.

4. Free and Pro

The free plan includes curated neighbourhood walks and a limited number of personalised walks and audio stops per week; the current limits are shown in the app. Flaneo Pro is an auto-renewing subscription that removes those limits and unlocks the full audio guide.

5. AI-generated content and accuracy

Routes, the order of stops, the short “why this stop” lines and the narration are produced by AI from facts in our database, which come from public sources (such as OpenStreetMap, Wikidata and Wikipedia) and are checked by people where marked as verified. Even so:

You use the Service at your own risk in this sense: we are not liable for what happens on a walk, for places that turn out to be different from their description, or for decisions you take based on the content. Use the Report a mistake button—it is the fastest way to fix our database.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to: copy, scrape or bulk-download our content or database; reverse-engineer the app or try to bypass usage limits, payments or security; use the Service through automated means; upload unlawful, abusive or infringing content in feedback; interfere with the Service or other users; or use the Service for anything illegal. We may suspend or terminate accounts that break these rules.

7. Intellectual property

The app, the Flaneo name and logo, our route logic, our editorial texts and audio are owned by us or our licensors and protected by copyright and trademark law. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, under these terms and the store’s rules.

Some data and content come from openly licensed sources: map data © OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL), texts derived from Wikipedia and Wikidata (CC BY-SA 4.0 / CC0), images from Wikimedia Commons under the licence shown for each image, and place data from Overture Maps and Foursquare OS Places under their licences. Attributions are shown in the app (Profile → About → Data sources) and on each narration. Those sources keep their own licences; our own texts, audio and code do not become open by being combined with them.

8. Your feedback

Ratings, likes, error reports and suggestions you send us may be used to improve the Service without any obligation to you. You keep any rights in the text you write, and you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to use it for that purpose.

9. Third parties

The app relies on Apple (and later Google) for accounts and payments, on map providers for map tiles, and on the processors listed in the Privacy Policy. Links to other websites or services (for example tickets or tours, which we may later label as partner links) are provided for convenience; those sites have their own terms and we are not responsible for them.

10. Availability and changes

We may add, change or remove features and cities, and may interrupt the Service for maintenance or for reasons outside our control. If we discontinue a paid feature during a period you paid for, you may be entitled to a proportional refund from the store. We may update these terms; material changes are announced in the app at least 14 days before they take effect, and continued use after that date means acceptance. If you do not agree, stop using the Service and, if applicable, cancel your subscription.

11. Warranties and liability

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent permitted by the law that applies to you, we disclaim implied warranties and are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, loss of data or loss of profit, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded by law, including under Argentina’s Consumer Protection Act (Law 24.240) and EU or UK consumer law, or liability for fraud, gross negligence or death or personal injury caused by negligence.

12. Apple App Store terms

If you obtained the app from the App Store, the following also applies: these terms are between you and Flaneo, not Apple; Apple is not responsible for the app or its content and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support; if the app fails to conform to a warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price, and to the maximum extent permitted by law Apple has no other warranty obligation; Apple is not responsible for addressing any claim relating to the app, including product liability, legal or regulatory requirements, or consumer protection, nor for investigating or defending third-party intellectual property claims; you confirm you are not in a country subject to a US government embargo or listed as a prohibited party; you must comply with applicable third-party terms when using the app; Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

13. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Argentine Republic. Disputes are subject to the ordinary courts of the City of Buenos Aires, except that if you are a consumer, you may also rely on the mandatory consumer-protection rules and courts of your country of residence. Before going to court, write to us—most problems are solved by e-mail within a few days.
